Join local artist Rose-Marie MJ for a sketch and wander down to the famous boathouse at Woodchester Park. The boathouse is a 19th-century, Grade II listed building located on the edge of the Middle Pond in Woodchester Park. Rose will guide you on this walk through the park with our destination being the boathouse. We’ll have the opportunity to sketch and draw the structure as well as the surrounding area in the early autumn morning light. Rose will be on hand to give you tips on perspective, composition and en plein air advice should you need it. Book yourself into the perfect arty plein air event!
Some materials are included in your booking, these include an A4 sketchbook, 4B graphite pencil and an eraser. However, if you wish to bring other materials please do so! Just make sure they’re easy to carry as our walk will lead down paths and across fields.
The walk will end at 12:30 back at Tinkley Gate cafe. Booking is required; please do so through by checking out below. An additional parking charge of £4 applies in the Tinkley Gate car park (free for National Trust members), this is a great opportunity to come with friends and car pool together!

“I’m an artist who thrives on the raw, hands-on magic of dry materials such as pastel, charcoal, pencil, and graphite. Whether it’s the precision of a single pencil stroke or the bold fusion of textures, I delve into the creative process, fully connected to the surface. My goal is to create art that resonates with viewers, sparking joy, and fostering a genuine connection. For me, art is an ongoing adventure, fuelled by a passion to craft pieces that evoke emotion and capture beauty.”
